Reception - Oct 25
(Quilt Info Below)
CANCER has touched most of our lives in some way,
either personally and profoundly or as the helpful (or helpless)
assistant and support system to a loved one or comrade in need.
CANCER touched my life personally and profoundly in
May 2004 with a personal diagnosis of breast cancer followed by
surgery, treatment and lengthy recovery period.
CANCER touched my life profoundly a second time in
June 2008 when my beloved aunt and friend (mom’s sister Ruth) was
diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer and died 5 months later,
December 3, 2008.
CANCER touched my life profoundly a third time in
January 2010 when my mother was diagnosed with breast
cancer at age 78 and endured surgery and chemotherapy.
CANCER does not define me, my mom or the memory of
my aunt, but has been a call to action to join the fight against this
deadly foe. Personally, I
have walked in the Atlanta 2 Day walk for breast cancer which raises
upwards of a million dollars for treatment and support assistance.
And in past years I have initiated and implemented the Pink Tee
Shirt Party, a health fair focusing on cancer prevention.
This year, mom has designed and made a beautiful
quilt to raise money for cancer
research.
Each donation of $5 or more earns an opportunity to receive
this beautiful quilt or one of several other gifts including spa
treatments, jewelry and more. ($25 will put your name in the drawing 5
times; $100 donation puts your name in 20 times, etc) The quilt is on
display in the reception area of Keating Family Medicine.
Please stop by to admire it.
Donations may also be made at Keating Family Medicine. The
money raised will be given to: Atlanta 2 Day Walk October 2011
Please mail your donation checks to :

We will host a reception the evening of the
drawing, Tuesday, October 25 from 5-7pm at Serenity Medical Health &
Beauty Spa. We hope
that you will join us in this celebration as we unite to stamp out
breast cancer. Please
bring a friend, we will serve delightful delicacies and share a brief
presentation on health tips and updates for cancer prevention and
overall wellness. Last
minute donations may be made the day of the drawing, but please do not
wait until the last minute as you won’t want to miss your opportunity
to be the recipient of this beautiful quilt.
(You do not have to be present at the event to win)
Thank you for considering this cause worthy of supporting.
We never know who will have the next appointment with the
oncologist.
Sincerely and Gratefully,
Sharon

and Maud Brodd
